§ 01 · Story
From a research desk to a systems practice
Our first system wasn't for a client. It was for us: a Google Sheets and Apps Script operation with separate portals for clients, for our research specialists and for administration, plus automated deadline reminders, status notifications and PDF invoices generated straight from the records.
It worked, and other business owners started asking how. Agencies wanted the same portals. Shops wanted the same invoicing. Service companies wanted the same reminders. Automation, internal software and web development grew from a side capability into the core of what TRD does.
We still run on our own work, and we're currently moving our own operations from Apps Script to a Next.js and Supabase platform, the same migration path we recommend to clients who outgrow spreadsheets. When we advise you on it, we're describing a road we're on.
Research and academic support continues as a secondary practice, run with the same standards of confidentiality and process.
