Google Apps Script development, done like software

Apps Script is a real runtime with real limits. We write it with version control, modular files, error handling and logging, so the script that runs your operations is something you can maintain, not something you are afraid to touch.

§ 01Is this you?

You're likely in the right place if…

  • 01You have a script that works, but nobody knows exactly how.
  • 02Jobs time out or fail silently when the data grows.
  • 03You need a small internal web app but don't want to pay for hosting.
  • 04Gmail, Drive, Calendar and Sheets need to act as one system.

Sound familiar? Tell us which one on WhatsApp (opens in a new tab) and we'll suggest where to start.

§ 02Deliverables

What we build

  1. 01

    Custom functions and menus

Spreadsheet functions and menu actions that put complex logic one click away from the people who need it.

  2. 02

    Apps Script web apps

Internal portals and forms served from Apps Script, with Google sign-in and role checks, at no extra hosting cost.

  3. 03

    Workspace automation

Gmail parsing and templated sending, Drive filing, Calendar scheduling and Docs generation, coordinated from one codebase.

  4. 04

    Triggers and scheduled jobs

Time-driven and event-driven triggers with locking, retries and resumable batches for long-running work.

  5. 05

    Add-ons

Editor add-ons for Sheets and Docs when the same tool is needed across many files or teams.

  6. 06

    Rescue and refactor

Audit and restructure of existing scripts: remove duplication, fix quota issues and document what each part does.

§ 03Approach

How we build it

  1. Source-controlled

We develop locally with clasp and TypeScript where it makes sense, so every change is tracked and reversible.

  2. Quota-aware design

Batch reads and writes, caching and continuation tokens keep jobs within execution limits as data grows.

  3. Fail loudly

Errors are caught, logged and emailed to a named owner instead of disappearing into the execution log.

  4. Clear limits

When a requirement is beyond what Apps Script does well, we say so early and propose the smallest external component that solves it.

Typical stack

  • Google Apps Script
  • clasp
  • TypeScript
  • HTML Service
  • Sheets API
  • Gmail API
  • Drive API
  • Calendar API

§ 05FAQ

Questions about google apps script development

01What are the practical limits of Apps Script?

Per-execution time limits, daily quotas on emails and URL fetches, and no long-running processes. Most business workloads fit comfortably when the code is written for those limits; we flag early when one doesn't.

02Can Apps Script run a client-facing portal?

For modest traffic and internal or known users, yes, and we have built multi-role portals on it. For public-facing products with heavy traffic we recommend a hosted web application instead.

03Do you write Apps Script in TypeScript?

For larger projects, yes: we develop locally with clasp and TypeScript, keep the code in version control, and deploy to Apps Script. Small scripts can be written directly in the editor if that suits your team better.

04Can you build an Apps Script web app with logins?

Yes. Apps Script web apps can use Google sign-in and check roles from a sheet or database, so different users see different screens and data.

05Our script keeps timing out. Can you fix it?

Usually. Timeouts are most often caused by reading and writing one cell at a time or processing everything in one run. Batching, caching and splitting long jobs into resumable steps normally solves it.

06Will you document what the script does?

Yes. You get commented code plus a written guide to every trigger, setting and scheduled job, and what to do if one fails.

07How is the price decided?

After a short study of your process we send a written scope with fixed deliverables, timeline and price. Nothing is charged before you approve it; payment is typically 50% to start and 50% on delivery.

08Who owns the work when it's finished?

You do. Code, accounts and documentation are handed over in your name once the project is paid.
